Camp 2011

Day 1
Camp this year was a blast. We first came to school at around 8:30 on the Monday morning, and got all our stuff out of the car and put it in the Ngamuwahine trailer. We unpacked all our stuff and got dressed appropriately for the amazing hike. We went on the hike in the Mamaku Kaimai National Park. On the way through the bush Harrison jumped on a hornets nest (I tell you now it wasn’t a great move). Some of the boys got stung by hornets but who cares. On the way back from our bush walk, Kirk, who is allergic to bees got stung so they had to race back to camp while the rest had to walk. The rest of the day we did abseiling and rock climbing.
Later that night all the girls went out to build our bivouac’s in the bush. We made dinner and went back to camp for dessert. Our group had marshmallows over the fire before we went to bed exhausted. Apparently their was a pig out side Olivia’s bivouac but no one believes her.

Day 2
Tuesday the girls packed up their stuff and headed back for breakfast. Breakfast at camp was always the same, toast, cereal or HOT spaghetti. BLAA! After that, our class split into groups to do the stream study and photography. First our class did the photography. It was fun ‘cause we had a list of things to take photo's of and for love Frankie was kissing and hugging a tree. Stream study was cool I didn’t do much though, I just played around. I didn’t find any LIVE bugs, well I did but I killed them accidentally. I think that the stream study was the best because James Green and I didn’t do much work we just swam. I loved that river. I’ll never forget it. I didn’t really think that on friday would be the last time I would swim, let alone the last time I could see it. I hope I can still go there again. Maybe I could get a job there when I’m older.......hmmmmmmm........Na!

Day 3
Wednesday we my group did PAINT BALL! It was so much fun, me and Frankie were defending the flag the whole time. Well, it was fun. Keb ambushed us and Frankie got scared so she serenaded. She so scared she tripped over roots, lost BOTH her shoes. She isn’t one of those people who love to get shot. She asked me this, “Jordan can you stop shooting so I can get past. PLEASE!” As the kind and generous person I am I said, “NOOOOOOOOOO!” Well if you were behind a big thick tree and couldn’t see where you were shooting and their fire a bullet every millisecond you would say no to wouldn’t you? She eventually got past without getting hit. I got shot in the knee by Keb. I think I was aiming a bit off because he only came out with one blob of paint on his legs. Liam came to help me defend because I was the only one left. My gun did something weird, I think it ran out of gas. So I serenaded to ask Mr Hart what happened. He sent me back out with another gun. I was just in the battle ground and I saw Keb behind a bush. Liam again was beside me. He was behind a big tree and I was behind a vine so who do you think got hit. That’s right me. He started to walk towards the flag. I aimed and fired. No bullets, DAM! In the second round me and Frankie were on the same defense spot but on the other side of the field. Russell, in his fluro vest, ran behind a tree shooting Woody, aka. Keely’s dad, Woody was busy shooting him and his but was sticking out so I shot it. He saw Frankie and started shooting her. Another guy from the other side started shooting her to. No one saw me so I shot Russell in the well nuts. I serenaded ‘cause I had no bullets left and came out and shot Craig and he spotted me so he shot me in the fingers, it hurt like hell. We went back and did kayaking. Everyone in my group sunk their kayaks on accident. Then we did shooting and archery after kayaking. It was cool, I hit 2 cans in a row but no bulls-eyes.

Day 4
Thursday we did mountain biking, then raft making, then the beam, then the vertical playpen and centipede. We also did the flying fox, it was kinda gay because it went really slow. I think the vertical playpen was the best because you used all your energy on the first tier, but I mad it to the top of it.

Day 5
Clash of the camps and tiding up was on friday. Clean up was boring and slow, it took us 2 hours to do it. Clash of the camps. Well, I did the eating challenge. Lets say I can’t say it was pretty. It came out my nose and all. It was soooooooo gross. Leaving was funny. The car I went in got squashed by a tree. It was funny.
